Earth Day Cleanup 2006
Thank you to all the volunteers who turned out for the clean-up, this was our best attended clean-up for several years. Sorry we did not get photo's of everyone but we have included some below.
(Move the mouse over the photo's to see some more underneath)

The Town provided bags and gloves. MRPA provided refreshments and hired South Kingstown Police to provide traffic calming during the clean-up. Thanks to the great turn-out we covered a lot of territory. This years collection included the usual assortment of beer cans and bottles, a particularly impressive collection of Vodka bottles, with a new trend in that we see a major increase in the number of small Smirnoff bottles in various flavors, coffee cups, cigarette butts, fast food containers and the annual muffler and tire.

This year we have decided to start a lost and found section to allow people to reclaim some of the more valuable items they discarded on the road,

LOST AND FOUND ON MINISTERIAL ROAD
Well used mattress
Large pallett
One hiking boot, size 12, One running shoe size 10.5 (See photograph below) Owner appears to have two left feet of different sizes, probably walks with a limp.
One Fire hose (note to Fire department please check the truck before you arrive at a blazing house)
Halloween Candy basket (unfortunately the candy has disappeared)
Prescription Medicine Bottles, (with two refills remaining) note to the patient, one of the side effects of this medicine seems to be an urge to litter on scenic roadways.
One Canned Ham, a bag of broccoli and a frying pan, (would you like Red or White wine with that? We found both!)
Note to another motorist, your urine sample has been found and should be delivered to your doctor immediately.

The original owners of these items can claim them from the transfer station at Rose Hill.
